WILMINGTON — CSX will close lanes on 16th and 17th street two days this week.

The temporary closures will take place near Marstellar and Wright streets, as crews make railroad crossing repairs. One lane of traffic will remain open as roadwork is performed on Wednesday and Thursday and signage will be in place directing drivers to seek an alternate route on 13thStreet.

The work at 17th Street will begin at 9 a.m. on Dec. 13 and wrap by 6 p.m., with 16th Street repairs taking place the following day, Dec. 14, 9 a.m., to finish by 6 p.m.

According to CSX, it is undergoing a network-wide infrastructure maintenance program and the local repairs will address resident concerns about the roads and smooth out the asphalt transitions at the crossings.
