WILMINGTON — House Representative Deb Butler announced her plans to run for re-election for District 18.
Butler has served New Hanover County constituents since she was first appointed by Gov. Roy Cooper in 2017. Since, she has won re-election in 2018, 2020 and 2022 — most recently against challenger John Hinnant.
“I am a very strong advocate for workforce housing, fair wages, a cleaner and healthier natural environment, Medicaid expansion, and stellar schools for every NC child,” Butler said in a statement Wednesday. “I look forward to continuing my service for this community and all of North Carolina.”
Filing for the 2024 elections open on Monday, Dec. 4, 2023 and close Friday, Dec. 15, 2023. Candidates for N.C. House, N.C. Senate, and local offices file with their respective county board of elections.
