NEW HANOVER COUNTY — Law enforcement have identified a body found in Smith Creek over the weekend.

New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office said the female found dead floating in the water is 29-year-old Anna Lynn Walker. She was reported missing from Oak Island earlier this month.
According to the Oak Island Police Department’s social media, Walker was reported missing from NW 27th Street Nov. 4.
On Nov. 16, the Wilmington Police Department assumed lead on the investigation as her last known location was on Market Street near New Centre Drive in Wilmington.
