Statewide ‘Click It or Ticket’ campaign starts Thanksgiving week

The North Carolina Governor’s Highway Safety Program is launching its statewide ‘Click It or Ticket’ campaign ahead of Thanksgiving.

The program will take place Nov. 20-26 with higher law enforcement patrols across the state. The goal is to ensure travelers are safe during the increased holiday traffic, with all drivers and passengers wearing seatbelts while in vehicles 

Last year during the Thanksgiving campaign, there were a total of 141 restraint violations, which includes seat belt and child safety infractions, in the tri-county region. In New Hanover County, it totaled 48, with Brunswick County at 43 and Pender at 50.
