Russell Clark, who has served in the media relations manager position since May 2021, announced on Wednesday he “will no longer be employed” by NHCS effective Nov. 3.

Clark didn’t give a reason for his departure, though noted in a statement to press he would be transitioning to the private sector.

“My time with NHCS has been nothing short of wonderful,” Clark said in the statement. “I’m so grateful for all this opportunity afforded me and the wonderful people I’ve met and had the privilege to work with.”

Clark is among several employees from the NHCS communication team to leave in the last four months.

Josh Smith, the former chief communications officer for New Hanover County schools, and Caress Clegg, former communications supervisor, both transitioned to positions at New Hanover County earlier this year.
