BRUNSWICK COUNTY — Construction will begin next week to transform an intersection in Brunswick beach town to an all-way stop.

Weather permitting, the N.C. Department of Transportation will begin work on the change on Tuesday, Oct. 10. Construction will take place at the intersection of Thomasboro and Persimmon roads, with crews installing signage and pavement markings on both sides of the roadway.

Currently, motorists do not stop on Thomasboro. Anyone traveling in the vicinity is asked to slow down and remain alert of a new traffic pattern.

“An all-way stop is an effective and cost-efficient way to improve the safety of an intersection and reduce the risk of serious crashes,” according to the NCDOT.
