OAK ISLAND — Due to construction work slated to happen Tuesday, Sept 26, a section of Ocean Drive in Oak Island will close.

Roughly 500 feet between the 800 and 900 blocks of Ocean Drive will close from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. according to the beach town. It will affect the intersections of Womble Street, Barbee Boulevard and Sherrill Street.

The closure is due to a car operation that will install concrete tanks as part of the 801 Dune Infiltration System.

Any changes or updates to the closure will be posted on the town’s website here.
