Monday, August 28
The Belville Board of Commissioners will meet at 6:30 p.m. at town hall, 63 River Road. The agenda includes a public hearing on open burning within the town, an update on the Belville Riverwalk project and a social media update.
The Wrightsville Beach Board of Aldermen will hold a workshop at 10 a.m. at town hall, 321 Causeway Drive. A presentation will be given by NCDOT representatives regarding the Salisbury Street and Causeway Drive bridge replacement projects. The same presentation will be given at 2 p.m. at the public safety building.
Tuesday, August 29
The New Hanover County Board of Commissioners and Planning Board will hold a joint meeting at 8:30 a.m. at 230 Government Center Drive to discuss technical information considered part of rezoning requests and upcoming planning initiatives. The meeting will be livestreamed on NHCTV and YouTube.
Wednesday, August 30
The Wilmington Urban Area Metropolitan Planning Organization Board will meet at 3 p.m. at 320 Chestnut St. The meeting will be livestreamed via Zoom. A few items on the agenda include:
- A presentation by NCDOT’s Chad Kimes on upcoming repairs to the Cape Fear Memorial Bridge
- Resolution approving project submittals to NCDOT’s prioritization for future funding
- Discussion on WMPO’s boundary, governance and structure with a recommendation to not expand. Read coverage from PCD here.
The New Hanover County Commission for Women will meet at 4 p.m. at the NHC Government Center, 230 Government Center Drive.
The Brunswick County Regional Water and Sewer H2GO will have a workshop at 10 a.m., 516 Village Rd. The public is welcome; the agenda can be found here.
The Leland Parks and Recreation Board will meet at 6 p.m. at town hall, 102 Town Hall Drive. The agenda can be found here.
The Oak Island Planning Board will meet at 9:30 a.m. at town hall, 4601 E. Oak Island Drive, for a special meeting to review its table of uses and supplemental regulations.
The New Hanover County Tourism Development Authority will have its board meeting at 5 p.m. at the New Hanover County Government Center, 230 Government Center Drive, meeting room 139. The public is welcome to attend; an agenda was not posted by press.
Thursday, August 31
The Topsail Island Shoreline Protection Commission will meet at 2 p.m. the Surf City Municipal Complex, 214 W. Florence Way. A WebEx link to livestream the meeting and the agenda will be posted on the website.
The New Hanover County Board of Commissioners will hold an agenda review at 4 p.m. at the NHC Government Center, 230 Government Center Drive.
The Southport Board of Aldermen will hold a special meeting at 9 a.m. in the Southport Community Building, at 223 East Bay Street, to conduct a homeless forum. The meeting can be livestreamed here.
Friday, September 1The Town of Burgaw Beautification Committee will meet at 8 a.m. at the Burgaw Town Center, 108 E. Wilmington St.
