Brunswick County updates emergency notification system

BRUNSWICK COUNTY — Residents that are subscribed to the CodeRED notification system in Brunswick have been advised to register for the county’s new system.

County officials noted an email was sent Monday, Aug. 7, to remind users to create a new ReadyBrunswick account to continue to receive alerts. All users of CodeRED were transferred over to the new system; however, an account must still be created to access alert preferences.

Anyone who didn’t receive the email Monday should double check spam or junk folders, the county advises. The registration link in the email will remain active until 10 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 10.

Those without a CodeRED account will still be able to enroll as a new registrant at ReadyBrunswick beginning on Thursday. The county wants to finalize the CodeRED rollover first.

Questions can be sent to Brunswick County Emergency Services, Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. at 910-253-5383 or by emailing emergency.management@brunswickcountync.gov.
