Man arrested in connection to Subway robbery

WILMINGTON — Steven Nixon is being held at New Hanover County Detention Center under a $200,000 secured bond for his alleged involvement in a Sunday robbery.

It took place on July 30 before 4:30 p.m. and officers were called to the Subway located at 1707 Dawson St. Upon arrival, employees described the suspect entered, said he had a gun, demanded cash and then fled.

Officers were able to get a vehicle description during their investigation, thereafter located by law enforcement on the road during patrol. The vehicle was stopped, and the driver was positively identified as 41-year-old Steven Lavern Nixon, who WPD report committed the robbery.
