NCDOT repaving areas in Brunswick, Pender counties

SOUTHEASTERN N.C. — Two sections of highways in the area are being resurfaced, with construction likely to impact traffic due to lane closures.

U.S. 17 North between Old Ocean Highway in Bolivia and I-40 east and west at exits 388 and 408 in Pender County area being repaved. The old pavement is being milled to be covered with new asphalt.

Crews will work through the end of the year on U.S. 17 overnight, 8 p.m. until 6 a.m., Sunday through Thursday; no weekend work is scheduled. I-40 work is conducted in daytime hours, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday. It’s expected to be completed by next summer.

NCDOT advises drivers to maintain caution through work zones.
