WILMINGTON — Can’t get to the DMV during the week because of work? The Wilmington location at 2390 Carolina Beach Road is open on Saturdays during the summer.
Beginning last month, the Carolina Beach location became one of 16 drivers license offices to add weekend hours through Aug. 26, expanding service opportunities. The office is open 8 a.m. to noon on Saturdays to walk-ins only.
“Among my goals as NCDMV Commissioner are adopting new or expanded ways to provide better customer service,” Commissioner Wayne Goodwin said in a press release. “Accordingly, I’m focused on filling staff vacancies and offering more opportunities for customers to receive services both online and during expanded hours. Opening for Saturday hours at our busiest locations statewide is what customers want, need, and have requested.”
Goodwin said he hopes to retain Saturday office hours beyond peak season and at more statewide locations as staffing levels improve.
