Leland teen and juvenile charged in property damage case

BRUNSWICK COUNTY — Two suspects have been apprehended in connection to multiple incidents of property damage in Leland.

Leland Police Department charged Nicholas Steven Ramsey, 18, with 16 counts of injury to personal property, one count of trespassing, and one count of contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

According to a release from LPD, Ramsey had an accomplice, a juvenile whose name has been withheld. That case will be handled by the Office of Juvenile Justice.

On Monday, May 1, residents in the Windsor Park community reported multiple incidents of property damage. Street signs had been spray painted, and there was damage to the neighborhood’s poll and clubhouse. As well, two law enforcement vehicles from other jurisdictions were damaged.

Ramsey has been booked into the Brunswick County Detention Center and received a $10,000 unsecured bond.
