SOUTHEASTERN N.C. — As part of our countdown to 2023, Port City Daily is revisiting its most read stories of the year.
Coming in tenth is coverage about a fight video that was recorded at the Carolina Beach boardwalk near the rides in early June. It went viral on social media, leading police to charge the couple with assault and battery after the victim pressed charges.

The fight festered over a parking dispute that took place hours earlier. The police determined the victim was acting in self-defense, as the Arnettes instigated the brawl.
