No. 8 Most Read Story of 2021: Students evacuate from New Hanover High School shooting, one student injured

SOUTHEASTERN N.C. — As part of our countdown to 2022, Port City Daily is revisiting its most read stories of the year.

Coming in eighth is the coverage of the shooting at New Hanover High School that took place within the first few weeks of the 2021-22 school year.

Students were evacuated a few blocks over to Williston Middle School on Aug. 30 after shots were fired in the campus’ Market Street crosswalk during a fight.
