LELAND –– The Town of Leland will host its last community workshop for the Leland 2045 planning process Wednesday.
The long-range document will help guide future planning decisions in years to come.

Looking at a 25-year planning horizon, the town is examining current land uses and engaging with the community for feedback on how to shape the future.
“Themes for the plan include highly valued and protected natural and cultural resources; livable, diverse,
and connected neighborhoods that accommodate growth; a resilient and stable economy; an inclusive,
supported, healthy, safe, and educated community; infrastructure that supports community life; and an
active participant in a cooperative region,” the town shared in a press release.
The workshop meeting will be held Sept. 29, 6 p.m. to 7 p.m., at town hall. Displays will be available and planning staff and consultants will be on hand to answer questions and hear feedback. Individuals can drop in at their convenience.
A final draft of the plan is expected to be presented to council in November.
