Tri-county schools check-in: New Hanover, Pender almost at 100 Covid-19 cases, Brunswick tracks over 150

SOUTHEASTERN N.C. — New Hanover County Schools reported 94 cases of Covid-19 for the week of Sept. 20. Plus, 104 quarantines were documented on the NHCS public online dashboard.

(NHCS’ numbers are not entered in real-time, meaning some data may be delayed. The dashboard is updated once a week on Friday and some current cases may not be reflected until the following week’s totals are published.)

Since the start of the school year, NHCS recorded 822 positive cases total. Here is the breakdown for the week of Sept. 20:

Brunswick County Schools

Brunswick County Schools is reporting 158 active Covid-19 cases, including three in the central office. More than 400 people were quarantining out of precaution as of Friday afternoon, according to the online dashboard.

Since the first day of school, Aug. 23, the school system has recorded 451 positive cases overall.

Pender County Schools is confirming 91 Covid cases and 220 quarantines for the week of Sept. 12 to Sept. 18, according to the latest update on its dashboard.

Since Aug. 30, 200 staff and students in Pender County tested positive for Covid-19.
