Wilmington police investigating after one man wounded in Houston Moore shooting

WILMINGTON — Authorities are investigating an early morning shooting that left one man injured in the Houston Moore housing development.

According to the Wilmington Police Department, officers responded to the 1300 block of Willard Street in Houston Moore after nearby patrols heard gunshots.

Officers arriving on the scene found a 31-year-old man with one or more gunshot wounds. As of around 5 a.m., the victim was in stable condition at New Hanover Regional Medical Center, according to WPD.

WPD tweeted out a brief report of the shooting around 1:30 a.m. on Saturday morning. WPD followed up with a few additional details on Saturday afternoon.
