Wilmington police offer reward after shotgun stolen out of officer’s vehicle

WILMINGTON — Authorities are offering a $1,000 reward for information that leads to the return of a firearm stolen out of a Wilmington Police Department officer’s vehicle early on Monday morning.

According to WPD, at around 4 a.m. on Monday, May 11, an officer responded to a domestic dispute on the 3800 block of Princess Place.

“When he returned to his vehicle, the trunk was open and the shotgun case inside was empty. The missing weapon is a 12 gauge Remington 870 with a black synthetic stock and black barrel,” a ‘standard-issue’ police shotgun, according to WPD.
