NEW HANOVER COUNTY — New information surrounding Covid-19 and actions taken by local and state governments have taken priority in the news the past week. Despite all of this, local governments are moving forward in New Hanover County are continuing with their meetings, including the City of Wilmington.

Despite the fact Governor Roy Cooper issued an executive order forbidding large gatherings, some local governments, like the City of Wilmington, are moving on with their meetings. Luckily, most local governments have some sort of remote viewing, like live video streams, for residents to watch without having to go to a potentially crowded meeting hall.

City of Wilmington

The City of Wilmington will have a meeting at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday with several large-ticket items on the agenda. Those interested can watch the meeting via live stream.

Town of Carolina Beach

The Town of Carolina Beach’s Town Council is holding a special meeting on Monday at 6 p.m., those interested can stream the meeting from the town’s YouTube page. Another meeting, a Town Council Day Workshop is on the calendar for Tuesday, March 16, however, no agenda is available at the time of publication.
