Pleasure Island lighting at the lake
When: Friday, Nov. 29, 7 p.m.
What: The Lighting at the Lake Ceremony officially begins the month-long Island of Lights Festival in Carolina & Kure Beaches. After the Lighting at the Lake Celebration Santa will make a guest appearance under the shelter area.
Where: The Lake is located at the intersection of Atlanta Ave and Lake Park Blvd in Carolina Beach, NC. There is parking in the lot at the lake, a lot across the street from the lake and on Lake Park Boulevard.
Christmas by the Sea
What: The North Pole is moving to the Carolina Beach Boardwalk
Where: Carolina Beach Boardwalk
When: Saturday, Nov. 30
- 6:30 p.m.: The Murray Middle School Orchestra and Jazz Band will perform at the Gazebo stage and entertain us with Christmas favorites.
- 7:00 p.m.: Town representatives will have the Boardwalk Lighting Ceremony.
- 6:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.: Visit Santa at his Boardwalk workshop and enjoy cookies and hot chocolate.
- This is a free event to all visitors and will continue for the next three Saturdays before Christmas. Weather permitting, other activities like snow queen/princess, ornament making, and roasting marshmallows
Southport Tree Lighting
What: Join Mayor Dove and other Southport revelers in Franklin Square Park as the holiday season kicks off with a countdown to the lighting of our big holiday tree. Sing favorite Christmas songs and delight in the reading of “The Night Before Christmas.” Enjoy a cup of hot cocoa and some holiday cookies that will be provided under the glow of Southport’s holiday lights.

N.C. Holiday Flotilla
When: Tree lighting begins at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, November 29, 2019; The boat parade begins at 6 p.m. with fireworks following the parade on Saturday, November 30th, 2019.
