SOUTHEASTERN, N.C. — If you haven’t already, this week is your last week to register to vote for the upcoming municipal election.
Same-day registration and one-stop voting ends Friday. If you’re already registered to vote, you are still eligible to vote on the actual Election Day, Tuesday.
Check your voter registration status online. If your address is current and status is active, you are eligible to vote through end of day Friday and on Election Day. If you address is not current and status is inactive, you can update your registration information in person at the following locations:
- New Hanover County: Government complex, Suite 34
- Through Friday, 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.
- Brunswick County: Board of Elections office, Building H
- Through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- Pender County: Board of Elections office
- Through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Voters should bring a “proof of address” to show residency. This can include a valid drivers license or a document dated within three months (like a utility bill, bank statement, paystub, etc.). Online documents are acceptable but must be shown from the source (like a utility company). Residency can be established if voters have lived in one place for more than a 30-day period and they intend to return to that location.
Only registered voters can cast eligible votes on Election Day.
