WILMINGTON — The Wilmington Police Department is responding to an incident at Cypress Cove where a juvenile has been shot, according to police.

Wilmington Police spokeswoman Linda Thompson said information at the time is limited but she does know the victim is at the hospital. She was unable to provide information on a suspect or if the shooting was accidental or intentional — Thompson also declined to provide the age of the victim.

She said police are actively investigating the situation and once they have an idea of what is going on she would share the information with the public.

The complex is located in the area of North 30th and Emory Streets in Wilmington.
