Shallotte announces first farmers market of the season, introduces Wednesday night markets

SHALLOTTE — With temperatures warming up, it’s about time for farmers market season.

The Shallotte Farmers Market announced this season’s schedule and introduced a new offering: Wednesday night markets.

Wednesday night markets will take place every other Wednesday this season, beginning on June 5, running through July 31. Saturday markets start up on May 4, and will take place each Saturday through August 3.

Vendors will be on the scene for both markets at Mulberry Park, just behind Main Street in Shallotte. Locally-made crafts, snacks, produce, art and more will be available at the markets.

Saturday markets will run between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. Every other Wednesday, night markets will run from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
