WILMINGTON — A man has been arrested for assault after cutting another man’s neck on Friday night.
“The New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office has made an arrest for assault that took place last night. Shortly after 10 PM Deputies were flagged down by a man on a bicycle in the 5100 block of Carolina Beach Road. He was suffering from a laceration to his neck. The victim was transported to the hospital and Detectives began their investigation,” According to the New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Jerry Brewer.
“After canvassing the area and speaking with several people Detectives were able to identify Jayson Jones as the assailant. Jones was taken into custody charged for assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury and given a $20,000 secured bond. This investigation is ongoing,” Brewer concluded.
