
NEW HANOVER COUNTY — Justin Brochure was arrested this week on charges relating to his earlier arrest on child pornography charges.
In June, Brochure was arrested by Leland Police Department and charged with 31 counts of second-degree sexual exploitation of a minor.

Brochure, 36, is the son of current Oak Island Mayor Cin Brochure. He was arrested again on Wednesday at the New Hanover County Courthouse and charged with 11 counts of violating a pretrial release agreement.
After spending two days in the custody of the New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office, Brochure was transferred to the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office Friday. Brunswick County booked Brochure on 11 counts of second-degree sexual exploitation of a minor.
Brochure remains in the custody of Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office on a $2 million secured bond. A court date of Nov. 5 has been set for the 11 counts of second-degree sexual exploitation of a minor he was recently charged with.
As the name of the charge implies, second-degree sexual exploitation of a minor is the state’s second most serious child pornography charge, pertaining to those charges with duplicating, transporting, or selling pornographic material featuring minors.
Third-degree charges pertain to possession of this kind of pornographic material, the most serious charges, first-degree sexual exploitation of a minor pertains to those with a direct role in the production of child pornography.
