Deadheads unite: Friday’s ‘Jerry Day’ concert will give 100% proceeds to charity

This Friday, celebrate the life and death of Jerry Garcia at the Brooklyn Arts Center for Wilmington's first annual Port City Jerry Day for The United Way

WILMINGTON — Prepare for a full day of Jerry at the Brooklyn Arts Center.

Port City Jerry Garcia Day for The United Way is Wilmington’s first annual Grateful Dead cover band concert. Every dollar earned will be donated to The United Way.

Grateful Dead cover bands Wavy Train and Wilmington-based The Possoms are set to hit the stage Friday at the air-conditioned venue. With a cash bar and vendors, the Brooklyn Arts Center will have an ATM on site.

Celebrate the life and death of Jerry Garcia Friday, Aug. 17, from 7 to 11 p.m. at the Brooklyn Arts Center. Sponsored by the City of Wilmington, Edward Teach Brewing, and Buechele Building Group. Tickets are available online now for $10.
