WILMINGTON — Wilmington Police have issued warrants for the married couple Bryan Seth Parker and Tamara Elizabeth Nelson who are accused of several crimes including hit and run, assault, and reckless driving to endanger.

According to the Wilmington Police Department, on July 28, “Officers responded to the 400 block of South Kerr Avenue around 9:30 p.m. where a family said two men and one woman in a dark blue Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck drove into their yard and hurled racial slurs at them before backing into traffic and hitting another vehicle.”

The third person involved with the incident, police decided, had not committed any crime and would not be charged with anything.

“Bryan Seth Parker, 25, the driver of the suspect vehicle, is charged with hit and run/ leaving the scene of a crash with property damage, simple assault, and reckless driving to endanger. His wife, Tamara Elizabeth Nelson, 22, is charged with resist/hinder/delay an investigation and simple assault,” according to a WPD statement.

Police Spokeswoman Jennifer Dandron said that after releasing the story to the media on Monday, the public helped identify the suspects.

“We are really appreciative of the quick response from the community and their willingness to help us. This is just one example of the many times the public has helped bring people to justice,” Dandron said.
