Carolina Beach police searching for suspect after thoroughly unsuccessful Hardee’s robbery attempt

The suspect appeared to be unarmed and fled after handing over a note demanding money.

WILMINGTON — According to the Carolina Beach Police Department, a Hardee’s restaurant was the target of an unsuccessful robbery attempt yesterday.

According to police, an unidentified woman entered a Carolina Beach Hardee’s restaurant yesterday evening and passed a note to an employee, demanding money. The robbery attempt was halted when the employee left the counter to alert colleagues, forcing the woman to flee the scene.

Carolina Beach Police officers responded to a report Thursday at 7:38 p.m., and are asking the public to help identify the suspect, who appeared unarmed in surveillance photographs. She appears to be white and in her early to mid-20s.
