BURGAW — Bridge repairs following a recent crash in Pender County will slow traffic on Interstate I-40.
Westbound traffic — toward Raleigh — on Interstate I-40 will be restricted to a single lane next week from Tuesday, April 3 and lasting a week until the following Tuesday, April 10. During that week, traffic will be restricted from 8 a.m. until 5:30 p.m.
The closures will stretch one mile from Mile Marker 399 to 400 in Pender County, just outside Burgaw. NCDOT crews will be repairing the steel bridge beams underneath the Stag Park Road overpass.
NCDOT officials ask motorists to drive carefully through the work area.
