BURGAW—Known for its longstanding Blueberry Festival, Burgaw has announced a recurring concert series to its summer happenings.
Held each June since 2003, the North Carolina Blueberry Festival brings over 30,000 people to downtown Burgaw.
Now, it has added a “Summer on the Square” concert series, sponsoring live music at Pender County’s courthouse square. Listeners are encouraged to bring blankets and chairs, but should leave alcohol and pets at home.
The family-friendly series will bring five live shows to the town, with a range of food vendors at each show.
Sponsored by the Burgaw, the North Carolina Blueberry Festival, Pender County, Burgaw Area Chamber of Commerce and Pender Memorial Hospital, “Summer on the Square” will be free of charge.

- JT Parrothead — Friday, May 18 at 6 p.m.
- No Sleeves Magic — Friday, June 15 at 5 p.m. (Blueberry Festival)
- The Embers featuring Craig Woolard — Friday, June 15 at 7 p.m. (Blueberry Festival)
- Soul on the Beach — Friday, July 20 at 6 p.m.
- Dos Eddies — Friday, August 17 at 6 p.m.
