WILMINGTON — New Hanover County Sheriff’s deputies and officers from the Wilmington Police Department are still in pursuit of two men after the early morning armed robbery of a CVS.

In the early morning of Wednesday, Feb. 7, three suspects – described as black males by the Sheriff’s Office – grabbed a CVS clerk while he was outside taking a smoke break. The armed suspects forced the clerk back inside and ordered him to open the cash drawer. Money in hand, the three fled the store in a car.

Multiple law enforcement agents responded and pursued the vehicle. The suspects drove towards downtown Wilmington but flipped their vehicle in the attempt to escape. The vehicle rolled near Lullwater Drive in the 5000 block of Market Street. One suspect was arrested, but two escaped on foot.

Both Sheriff’s deputies and WPD officers are searching for the other two suspects.
