Update 11:55 a.m.: Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office reports James Ali Pugh was arrested on Tuesday, Jan. 16 without incident. He is currently being detained in the Brunswick County Detention Facility.
BRUNSWICK COUNTY — The Sheriff’s Office is searching for a Shallotte man wanted for several violent crimes. Deputies are warning residents the man is armed and considered very dangerous.
James Ali Pugh is wanted for two counts each of first degree burglary, second degree kidnapping, and assault of a female. He is also wanted for violation of a domestic violence order.
Pugh is a 38-year-old black male. He is 5 feet, eight inches tall, weighs approximately 160 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes and a pierced nose.
Pugh was last seen in a red vehicle, believed by the Sherriff’s Office to be a Chevrolet Cobalt.
Pugh is armed with a handgun according to the Sheriff’s Office, and officials are asking residents to not approach him. Instead, the Sheriff’s Office asks residents who see or have any information about Pugh to call 910-253-2777 or 911.
