Update: New Hanover Sheriff’s Office seeks help finding 36-year-old woman

Update: The Sheriff’s Office reports Julie Ann Strickland has been located safe; the Office extended its gratitude for the public’s help in located her.

WILMINGTON — The Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help finding a woman who went missing last week.

Julie Ann Strickland was last seen at 117 Navaho Trail, off of Masonboro Loop Road, between 2 and 3 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 5. Strickland, a 36-year-old Native American woman, is described as 5 feet 5 inches, approximately 125 lbs, with brown eyes and long brown hair. She was last seen wearing a brown jacket and brown shoes. Strickland reportedly has a 3-inch scar on her left arm.

According to the New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office, a family friend stated he saw Strickland in the passenger seat of a 2005 Toyota Sienna on Market Street, at around 6:30 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 7.

Anyone with information about his location is asked to call the New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office at 910-798-4200.
