Pender County Schools to close three hours early tomorrow

PENDER COUNTY—In light of recent weather predictions by the National Weather Service, Pender County Schools has joined Brunswick and New Hanover County Schools in amending its regularly scheduled operations.

Pender County Schools will release three hours early tomorrow, Wednesday, Jan. 3, and New Hanover County and Brunswick County Schools have canceled school for students and staff.

All afterschool activities have been canceled, with the exception of PACES afterschool care, which will remain open until 3 p.m.

The National Weather Service has called for a winter storm warning from 11 a.m. Wednesday morning until 6 a.m. Thursday morning, predicting two to three inches of snow expected to fall in southeastern North Carolina counties, including New Hanover, Brunswick and Pender Counties.
