WILMINGTON — Wilmington police are searching for a man who pulled a gun on a Belk employee Sunday afternoon in Mayfaire Town Center.
“Officers responded to the Belk in Mayfaire Town Center at 940 Inspiration Drive around 2:50 p.m. yesterday where an employee said he approached a white male in his mid-20s when the man pulled a gun on the employee saying ‘this isn’t worth your life’ and then took off,” according to Police Spokeswoman Jennifer Dandron.
While WPD declined to comment on what, if anything was taken, police are calling the incident an armed robbery.
According to police, the suspect is a white male approximately 5’9” and 225 pounds who was wearing a “Gas Monkey” T-shirt and grey sweat pants. The suspect was seen leaving in a black Toyota sedan.
Police are asking for anyone with information to contact WPD or use the text-a-tip number.
