Wilmington Police investigating morning shooting that left one man injured

WILMINGTON — The Wilmington Police Department is investigating a shooting that left one man injured Monday morning.

According to WPD Deputy Chief Donny Williams, officers responded to the 1100 block of Zinnia Court around 8:30 a.m. in response to gunfire. Once on the scene, they found a 26-year-old man suffering from non-life threatening injuries as a result of a gunshot wound.

The victim was taken to New Hanover Regional Medical Center for treatment.

Williams said that the investigation is ongoing, and no suspects have been taken into custody.
