Police ask for help finding three drivers who hit school bus and fled

WILMINGTON — The Wilmington Police Department is asking for the public’s help identifying the drivers of three cars after a hit and run involving a school bus.

The incident occurred last Tuesday, Aug. 1, near the intersection of 7th and Wooster streets at approximately 3:30 p.m.

After stopping to drop off a student, the school bus was struck by what Police describe as a “grey Honda Accord or Accura TLX.” The vehicle continued around the bus, running a stop sign. The car was followed by a black four-door sedan and what Police are calling a “red or burgundy Saturn Aura.” According to the Police, all three vehicles struck the bus.

There were no reported injuries.

The Wilmington Police Department are asking anyone with information on any of the three vehicles, their operators or passengers to contact them at 910-765-0861 or Text-a-Tip.
