It’s National Fried Chicken Day, here are 5 local restaurants to get your fix

In honor of National Fried Chicken Day 2017, Port City Daily staff compiled a list of five Wilmington area locations to get your fried chicken fix.

Don’t see your favorite on our list? Let us know about it in the comments (photos of crispy goodness are a plus).

Casey’s Buffet

This Wilmington favorite started by Larry Casey offers take out, buffet options, and catering of a mix of southern comfort food. Fans of the fried chicken will eat it as fast as the kitchen can turn it out. Find them at 5559 Oleander Drive, Wilmington.

Bill’s Front Porch

Bill’s Front Porch brought craft beer and scratch-made food to a section of Market Street that had long since fallen on hard times. Come for the beer, stay for the fried chicken. Bill’s Front Porch offers a selection of craft beer and southern fried chicken, located at 4238 Market Street, Wilmington.

Ms. Pat’s Wings

There aren’t a lot of food options around 17th and Market, but for fried chicken there enough Ms. Pat’s to go around. Located at 624 S. 17th St., Ms. Pat’s started cranking out wings and stepped up to light and dark quarters.

Parchies Barbeque

Once a week, Parchies gets fresh grease – and fries up chicken. It’s every Thursday – be sure to get here early, since Parchies closes at 2 p.m., located in downtown Wilmington at 1120 Princess Street.

Smithfield’s Chicken ‘N Bar-B-Q

A North Carolina native – Smithfield’s has two locations in Wilmington. Check out its North Wilmington Location at 7300 Market Street, or South Wilmington at 3705 Patriot Way.

Bojangles

It just so happens that National Fried Chicken Day falls on the birthday of this Charlotte-based fried chicken restaurant. Bojangles has several locations in Wilmington, look for the closest store online.
