WILMINGTON — Agents from the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office Drug Enforcement Unit have charged a Leland man on numerous drug charges, including possession with intent to sell almost a kilo of cocaine, and 23 pounds of marijuana.
According to the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office, Nathaniel Josey, 59, was arrested Monday in New Hanover County on multiple charges.
After searching Josey’s residence on Olde Towne Wynde SE, Belville, investigators discovered 949 grams of cocaine, 10,661 grams of marijuana, 32 guns and $60,000 in cash.
Charges included two counts of trafficking in cocaine, conspiring to traffic in cocaine, possession with the intent to sell and distribute (PWISD) cocaine, possession of drug paraphernalia, two counts of trafficking in marijuana, conspiring to traffic in marijuana, PWISD marijuana and possession of marijuana paraphernalia.
The investigation was a joint effort and was initiated by New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office who have also filed charges against Josey.
Coastal Carolina Criminal Enterprise Task Force, which is composed of the FBI Charlotte Division’s Wilmington Resident Agency, the New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office, the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office, Wilmington Police Department and the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation.
Josey is currently being held in the New Hanover County Detention Facility without bond.
