WILMINGTON — Officials from Pender, Brunswick and New Hanover County today are meeting with Chemours, the manufacturer of GenX, the chemical that has been found in the Cape Fear River. The meeting is closed to the public, except for reporter Adam Wagner of Star News. That has not stopped protesters from gathering outside, however.
A press conference with local officials is scheduled for immediately after the meeting. We are live blogging the protest outside. We invite you to check back periodically, as this blog will be updated throughout the afternoon.
