WILMINGTON — The Publix grocery store in Pine Valley is one of many locations affected by a recall of deli items.

The supermarket chain issued a voluntary recall of its store-brand “Artichoke and Spinach Dip” out concern that the product may contain small fragments of glass, according to a release from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.

The dip is sold in refrigerated cases in the deli section of stores from Florida, Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee, South Carolina and North Carolina (the product UPC is 000-41415-15961 with a use-by date May 16).

Publix opened its first store in the region last year in Pine Valley, off College Road, and is currently constructing a second location in Porter’s Neck.
