WILMINGTON — A second public meeting for New Hanover County to solicit feedback on the so-called Northeast Street Plan has been scheduled.

The forum will be held on Tuesday, May 16 from 5 to 7 p.m., at the Northeast Regional Library, 1241 Military Cutoff Road, Wilmington.

A presentation of conceptual plans will begin at 5:30 p.m., according to a press release from the county. Whatever plan is ultimately approved will that will ultimately guide the long-term infrastructure plans in northeastern New Hanover County.

“Participants will have the opportunity to provide feedback on future transportation network options before and after the presentation,” the release states.

“Public feedback at this stage in the planning process is crucial,” said Planning and Land Use Director Chris O’Keefe. “Before a draft of recommendations is developed for the New Hanover County Planning Board to consider, we want to make sure that the public’s needs and views are reflected.”

This will be the second forum of its type held. The first public workshop for the project was held April 25, when more than 80 participants commented on current transportation conditions in the study area, according to the release.
