NEW HANOVER COUNTY — A recent heroin bust in New Hanover County resulted in the seizure of raw heroin and several hundred bindles ready for sale.

Jonathan O’Brian Sweet, 32, was arrested last week following the execution of a search warrant at his home located in the Murrayville area of New Hanover County, according to sheriff’s office spokesman Lt. Jerry Brewer.

Detectives “received information on a suspect that was selling heroin out of his home at 702 Nut Bush Court,” Brewer said. “Vice and narcotics detectives began their investigation, which led to Jonathan O’Brian Sweet.”

The search warrant executed on Monday, March 20, resulted in the seizure of 5 grams of raw heroin along with 300 bags of heroin packaged for sale.

Sweet was charged with two counts of trafficking heroin, possession with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver heroin, and maintaining a dwelling for a controlled substance. Brewer said Sweet has since posted a $151,100 bond and was released from the New Hanover County Jail.
