WILMINGTON — The Buccaneers 2016-17 season wrapped up this past weekend at the Individual 4A State Championships in Greensboro Coliseum, and it ended on a positive note.
For the first time since 1992, the Bucs sent two wrestlers to the state finals match. 120 pound senior, Kevin Saravia became the second two-time state champion in Laney Wrestling history, and the first three-time state finalist!
160 pound senior, Austin Harrison lost a tough decision in the finals to conclude his career as a state runner-up. As a team, the Bucs cracked the top 10 among 4A teams.
