WILMINGTON — A Wilmington man was injected with Narcan – a opiod overdose reversal drug – after he allegedly hit several vehicles Monday afternoon on Market Street.

Barry Spencer, 31, of Wilmington, faces felony charges in connection with several hit-and-run wrecks in along Market Street at about 4:30 p.m. Monday, according to Wilmington Police Department Spokeswoman Linda Rawley.

Witnesses told police the suspect was driving black Dodge truck erratically in the 5400 block of Market Street. He reportedly struck four vehicles and continued north onto Market Street without stopping.

Spencer’s vehicle soon crashed into a ditch after one of the wheels rolled off, Rawley said. EMS administered Narcan to Spencer at the scene and police took him into custody. Motorists involved in the incident suffered minor injuries, Rawley said.

Investigators believe the crash resulted in about $20,009 in damage.
