BRUNSWICK COUNTY — Take yourself back to Christmas in the 18th Century.

The Brunswick Town/Fort Anderson State Historic Site is hosting its annual Christmas celebration from 1 to 5:30 p.m. this Sunday. The historic site invites the public to explore how the colonists celebrated Christmas in 18th-Century America.

Costumed interpreters will be on hand for guided tours of St. Philips Anglican Church on the hour. During the program, guests can enjoy Colonial refreshments (including a colonial brew) at the site’s Visitor Center. Guests can also participate in traditional games and try their hand at Moravian paper stars and other 18th-Century crafts.

The evening will culminate with an authentic period candlelit service inside the ruins of St. Philips Anglican Church. The service will begin at 5 p.m. and will last until 5:30 p.m. Candles will be provided by the site.

The event’s activities are free with the price of parking, which is $5 per vehicle. For more information about the Brunswick Town/Fort Anderson State Historic Site visit their Facebook page or website.
