Wilmington, NC — On Tuesday, November 15, the Cape Fear Academy community participated in a school-wide community service project to fight world hunger. Everyone had a role to play from our Little Explorers to our Seniors! Through a partnership with Stop Hunger Now, our students packed 50,000 meals in honor of our 50th anniversary. Stop Hunger Now’s mission is to end hunger in our lifetime by providing food and life-changing aid to the world’s most vulnerable and creating a global commitment to mobilize the necessary resources.
Stop Hunger Now will distribute meals through feeding programs operated by partner organizations in developing countries that promote education, encourage children to attend school, improve students’ health and nutrition, address gender inequalities, stimulate economic growth, fight child labor, and are crucial to address global issues.
Community Service Day offered students an opportunity to learn about philanthropy and how they can make an impact on our community and beyond.

12:50 pm Students moved to one of three packing areas on campus: Main Gym, Cameron Gym and the Café.
1:00 pm Welcome and Intro by Matt Anlyan ’03, CFA Alumnus and Monitoring & Evaluation Systems Manager for Stop Hunger Now
1:10 pm Packing Began and continued until the end of the school day
