Port City Daily has announced its inaugural pumpkin contest winners!
Several readers from all parts of the Cape Fear region submitted photos of their Jack-o’-Lanterns, but only one from each category – 15 and under and over 15 – could win.
In the 15 and under category, Wilmington mother Alexis Kostyshyn and her 7-year-old daughter Helen, worked to create a pumpkin, they said was the “One-Eyed-One-Horned-Flying-Purple-People-Eater.” Kostyshyn and Helen received a family four pack to Battle House Tactical Laser Tag.
And Wilmington resident Rob Lamanna carved a spooky silhouette in his “Evil Dead” themed pumpkin, that won the over 15 category with hundreds of votes. He won a $200 gift certificate to The Seasoned Gourmet.

Thank you to all who submitted photos in Port City Daily’s pumpkin carving contests. You can still check out photos from all contest submission on our Facebook page. And if you didn’t get a chance to share your pumpkin this year, look forward to another round next year!
Happy Halloween!
