The first season of a locally filmed television series will feature a longstanding and much-loved Wilmington eatery.

Elizabeth’s Pizza, which has anchored the shopping center on the corner of Market Street and Kerr Avenue for nearly three decades, will become the backdrop Tuesday for a scene in TNT’s “Good Behavior,” according to a permit filed with the City of Wilmington.

The drama starring Michelle Dockery of “Downton Abbey” and based on Blake Crouch’s bestselling Letty Dobesh book series returned to the Port City in early March to film eight episodes. The pilot for the show was shot here late last year.

“Good Behavior” is sharing the city with another production. The History channel’s “Six” starring Joe Manganiello. Crews for that series, about a U.S. Navy SEALS team, moved into EUE/Screen Gems last month, as well, and have been filming in various locations in and around downtown.

Filming at Elizabeth’s will run from 6 a.m. to 1 p.m. The interior restaurant scene will involve two cast members and 30 extras to fill the pizza shop as diners.

Crews will set up along Castle Street Wednesday for a driving scene that will stretch between Fifth and 15th streets and wind through Ann Street for an exterior shot of Gregory Elementary School.

The 12-hour shoot – from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. – will require local law enforcement to lead intermittent lane closures on Ann between Tenth and 13th, as well as Gores Row, Eleventh, Twelfth and Jasmine at Ann. Barricades will be up at Tenth and Ann and again at the intersection of 13th and Ann.

That evening, an exterior scene outside the Community Boys and Girls Club along Castle will shut down the roadway between 14th and 16th streets and 15th between Church and Queen beginning at 6 p.m.

Cast and crew will return to Castle Street on April 13 to shoot a two-actor scene outside a home in the 700 block, requiring Castle to be closed from 2 to 9 p.m. between Seventh and Ninth and Eighth between Church and Queen. Drivers could see some delays on Castle between Fifth and Ninth, and Sixth and Seventh between Church and Queen during that time, as well, but it will only be for a few minutes at a time and will be put on hold during the 4:30 to 6 p.m. rush hour.

“Good Behavior” will start next week off on April 12 in downtown proper to film more restaurant scenes, this time at wedding and party venue Events! On Front. Filming will run from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. and will pick back up the next day from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., with smoke effects being used during both shoots.

While involving only four main actors, the Front Street footage will bring in a crowd of 100 extras.

TNT recently released a trailer for “Good Behavior,” which is set to premiere on Nov. 15. The show is rated TV MA (mature audience only).
